Academic Offerings

Chess: Pre-K 4    
JCDS is proud to partner with the Knight School to offer students the opportunity to explore the classic game of chess through an exciting introductory curriculum. Classes will include song and dance, video, group gameplay, and puppetry to launch students into the world of Chess.

Mini Musicians
**NEW Section**
JCDS is excited to Partner with Musician Makers to introduce musical concepts through singing, movement, rhythm games, instrument exploration, and creative play. Each class is designed to be active, engaging, and hands-on, allowing students to experience music in a way that is both fun and educational.

Rather than focusing on formal performance, this class encourages curiosity, creativity, and participation. Students will explore a wide variety of instruments, musical styles, and activities while developing foundational skills that prepare them for future music
education.

Young Engineers: Pre-K 4 
Young Engineers will create fun new experiences for students to explore the world of engineering. Students will learn a blend of scientific and engineering concepts, culminating each lesson in a unique student created 3d model.

Mini Lego League: Pre-K 4

JCDS is excited to explore the world of Legos, building and creativity with the mini Lego League group. Each week students  Students will research real-world engineering and environmental problems and work in teams to design, build, and program robotic solutions. Through this fun process, students will learn to collaborate, explain their ideas, and test solutions through trial and error.

Active Offerings

Gymnastics: Pre-K 4   
JCDS is excited to partner with Flip, Groove, Play! This program focuses on building self-esteem, teamwork, and creating a fun environment for kids to learn about fitness and gymnastics. Their mission is to engage with each child individually and create a safe, fun, and exciting atmosphere.

Sports Academy: Pre-K 4  
JCDS is proud to partner with First Athletes Sports Training (F.A.S.T.), to bring a multi-sport academy. This program is designed to create a foundation of skills in soccer, basketball, group games, and team building. The JCDS Sports Academy is a great way for students to explore multiple active options in a non-competitive setting.

Art Offerings

Art Sharks: Pre-K 4     
Art Sharks allows students to further explore artistic passions through a variety of topics and mediums. Projects may include ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, multi-media works, and collaborative art. Small class sizes offer opportunities for projects determined by student interest.

Dance: Pre-K 4    
The JCDS Early Learning Dance program focuses on the foundations of dance and allows students to study a variety of movement disciplines. Students develop fine motor skills, balance, and coordination, and build relationships with their peers. Pre-K4 dancers will be ‘level 1’ dancers for the school year and the disciplines offered will include: Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop.

Extended Care

Extended Care

Jacksonville Country Day School provides after school Extended Care for all students, including those in the Early Learning program. As an extension of the regular school day, our program seeks to provide care that will compliment and support the mission of JCDS.

The Extended Care program includes daily homework time, physical and outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and a nutritious snack.

August 12 - May 28
A.M. Care: 7:15- 8:05 a.m.*
1:30 - 6:00 p.m. (Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4)
3:05 - 6:00 p.m. (Kindergarten - 5th grade)

Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 options:
Annual option: 1:30 - 3:05 p.m.  $230/month ($2,070 annually)
Annual option: 1:30 - 6:00 p.m.  $320/month ($2,880 annually)

Kindergarten - 5th Grade options:
Annual option: 3:05 - 6:00 p.m.  $280/month ($2,520 annually)

Occasional Care: Pre-K 3 - 5th Grade Fee(s):
$10.00 per day (1:30-3:00)
$20 per day (3:00-6:00)
$25 per day (1:30-6:00)

*A.M. Care is included in the annual option or $10.00 per day for occasional use.
