Admissions Process

The admissions process at Jacksonville Country Day School is designed to match students with the mission of the school. Our process includes an online application, a tour for parents, and a student evaluation visit. This process helps families, students, and the school make placement decisions that will lead to future success.

Decision Date
JCDS abides by a common admissions decision date with other local private schools. The first round of decisions will be communicated to families on February 27, 2020. Applications received after the decision date will be considered on a rolling basis, space permitting.

The Admissions Process

  1. Inquire: Complete the online inquiry form or call our Admissions Office at 904-641-6644 ext. 128 to inquire or schedule a personal (private) tour.
  2. Apply: Complete our online application.
  3. Application Fee: The $100 non-refundable application fee ($35 for those re-applying) may be paid online during the application process or through our Business Office.
  4. Parent Questionnaire: Please complete and return to the Admissions Office.
  5. Teacher Recommendation Form: Please ensure your child's current teacher completes the appropriate Teacher Recommendation form and returns it directly to the JCDS Admissions Office.
  6. Transcripts (for students entering grades 1-6): Complete and submit this form to your child's current school office and have records sent to the JCDS Admissions Office.
  7. Birth Certificate: A copy of your child's birth certificate is required for all admissions applicants.
  8. Evaluation VisitsAll evaluation visits will be scheduled once the application is received.

Evaluation Dates

Pre-K 3, Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten:

Evaluations for Pre-K 3 through Kindergarten will take place in a group setting.

You will be notified of 
your child's evaluation visit date and time after your application is received. 
1st - 6th Grade:
First through 6th grade applicants will spend a full day at JCDS along with a separate day for testing. The testing generally lasts 1 to 2 hours. These evaluations will be scheduled on an individual basis.
