Ways to Give

Every gift, of any size, makes a difference to JCDS and its students.

Since the founding of Jacksonville Country Day School over 50 years ago, the innovative programs, exemplary faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities have solidified the school as a regional leader of independent school education.

Like all independent schools, JCDS depends upon the generosity of our community to sustain and advance the mission of our school.

Through the unwavering commitment of parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, trustees, and friends, we are able to provide the best possible educational environment for our students.

There are many ways to support JCDS in its mission to prepare students for a healthy and productive lifetime of intellectual exploration, character development, and social responsibility. For more information, please visit the links listed or contact our director of advancement, Rebecca Schwam, at rschwam@jcds.com or 904-641-6644 ext. 165.

Ways to Give

Gifts at all levels make a significant difference to Jacksonville Country Day School's students and faculty.

List of 7 items.

  • JCDS Fund

  • Corporate Matching Gifts

Many companies will match donations that their employees make to eligible nonprofit organizations. We have partnered with Double the Donation to let you see if your contribution to JCDS will be doubled, or even tripled, by your company.

Also, some corporations will make a cash donation to organizations where their employees volunteer regularly. Many parents put in long hours working on various projects and committees for JCDS. Why not convert those hours into a financial contribution?

Please check to see if your employer participates in any of these programs. Double the Donation will search its database and provide you with instructions for submitting a request for matching funds.
  • Volunteering

  • Major Gifts

Major gift donors may direct their support toward a specific purpose that matches their personal interests with the needs and priorities of JCDS.

We currently have major gift opportunities available in the following areas: Technology, Will Greene Outdoor LearningScape supporting our Early Learning Program, and the Kelly Fine Arts Center auditorium upgrades. If you do not see a current opportunity that connects to your personal interests, please contact our Advancement office to discuss your vision!

Please contact Rebecca Schwam, Director of Advancement at rschwam@jcds.com or at 904-641-6644, ext. 165 to discuss how your major gift will make a positive impact today.
  • Birthday Books

To honor your child's birthday, you may donate a book to the library by following these three steps:

    1. Select and purchase a book from the JCDS Library Wishlist. The wishlist can be found at Amazon.com
    2. JCDS provides this wishlist at Amazon.com to make book shopping simple. However, we appreciate a hardback copy of any book on the list from any source. Is there a title you love that does not appear on our list? Please email Jen Currie at jcurrie@jcds.com, and she will check to make sure we don’t already have a copy. Books may be personally delivered to the school or shipped directly to:
      • JCDS Library Birthday Books
        10063 Baymeadows Rd
        Jacksonville, FL 32256
    3. Please include a note with your book donation that indicates the birthday child's name, month and day of birth, and homeroom or advisory teacher.
    4.  Email jcurrie@jcds.com when a birthday book is purchased so that the library can be sure to share your child’s birthday book with their class when it arrives. Feel free to purchase books as far in advance as you like to ensure they are ready for presentation by your child’s birthday.

Once the book is received by our JCDS library:
    • The library specialist will print the birthday child's name on an honorary bookplate to be placed on the inside cover of the book and create a note in our electronic card catalog.
    • Students will be able to search the birthday child's name in the card catalog to find the entry for the donated book.
    • Birthday books will be presented in front of the child's class, and the honoree will have the option of being first to borrow the donated book.
    • The birthday child will receive a special birthday bookmark.

Thank you for your birthday book donation!

Please feel free to email Jen Currie at jcurrie@jcds.com with any questions.
  • Gifts of Securities

A gift of appreciated securities, which have been personally held for more than one year, is an excellent way to create personal tax savings while positively impacting the school.

When transferring securities, please contact Rebecca Schwam, Director of Advancement at 904-641-6644, ext. 165.
  • Planned Giving

In planning for your future and that of your loved ones, we hope that you will consider making a lasting investment in our school through planned giving.

Planned giving allows you to make a contribution to future generations of children by designating JCDS as a beneficiary of your estate plan through a bequest, charitable trust, retirement plan, or insurance policy.

Please contact Rebecca Schwam, Director of Advancement at 904-641-6644, ext. 165 with any questions, or to request more information on combining your financial planning with charitable giving.
