Capital Projects

The Campus Master Plan is more than a study. It is the beginning of the next chapter in the JCDS campus story. The report offers a long-term vision for a phased series of campus improvements, each reflecting an investment in the future of Jacksonville Country Day School. Each project will enhance both the function and the appearance of our campus while strengthening the environment in which students learn and grow.

Several initiatives emerged as especially important because of their potential to meet immediate needs while advancing the school's broader goals.

Current Projects

Amphitheater Renewal

The Amphitheatre has been an important gathering place on the JCDS campus for nearly 25 years. It has served as a setting for performances, celebrations, summer camp traditions, outdoor learning, and countless moments of connection that reflect the spirit of our school.

The renewed amphitheater will include expanded seating capacity, enhanced gathering spaces, and updated materials designed to create a more welcoming and functional environment, while preserving the existing tree canopy that makes the space so special.

Fully funded through generous donor support as of April 2026, the renewed amphitheater will be completed before students return to campus in August 2026.
LearningScape Modernization

At JCDS, we know children learn best when they are actively engaged with the world around them. Our outdoor spaces are intentionally designed to encourage curiosity, collaboration, creativity, resilience, and exploration.

Working with outdoor play experts at KOMPAN, the Learningscape Project will create more engaging and developmentally appropriate outdoor experiences that inspire movement, imagination, and joyful learning.

These enhancements will further support our mission while preserving the sense of childhood joy and discovery that makes JCDS such a special place to learn and grow.

New Pre-K 3 Classrooms

This summer also marks the final stages of the design phase for our new Pre-K 3 classrooms, which will be built in the space that once housed the JCDS library. The project is slated to be completed by the beginning of the 2027-2028 school year.

With growing demand for a JCDS education and a continued commitment to exceptional learning environments for our Sharks, this project has become an important early priority from our Master Plan.

These new classrooms will provide thoughtfully designed learning spaces for our youngest students while supporting the continued strategic growth of the school.
