Congrats to our All-State Performers!

We are very proud of 5th grade students Tate, Chloe, and Shri for representing JCDS at the Florida All-State music program!
Tate and Chloe performed in the Florida All-State Elementary Chorus last week in Tampa. "The sounds of the top 200 4th and 5th grade singers from across the state was incredible," Ms. Dickert said. "They sang in four different languages too!"
Shri represented JCDS at the Florida All-State Orff Ensemble last week in Tampa. He was one of only 100 students chosen throughout the state. Shri was also chosen to be one of three narrators for the ensemble's performance of The Stonecutter, based on a Japanese folktale.

JCDS Music Specialist Virginia Dickert also ran into alums Alex McGuire (‘11 at 5th grade) and Amanda Friedman (‘13) at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) conference, which was held in conjunction with the Florida All-State performances. Alex plays flute and Amanda plays French horn for the Wind Symphony at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.
