Physical Education Specialist
Job Summary
The PE Specialist will help support the JCDS education through instruction in physical education, character education, sportsmanship, and habits for a healthy lifestyle. The position will report to the Director of Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA in Education
- At least three years experience in education
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The PE Specialist will:
- Support the academic function of the school through the incorporation of physical education activities and lessons.
- Operate as part of a PE team, collaborating and working closely with other PE Specialists to create a positive learning environment.
- Teach, guide, and empower students with opportunities that promote problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork and collaboration, as well as physical/social awareness,
- Provide instruction in swimming and pool safety.
- Help monitor student safety during the school day (morning drop off, lunch, parent pick up, etc.)
- Integrate and collaborate with classroom teachers.
- Participate in professional development and the school-wide culture of continual learning
- Communicate effectively with all school stakeholders.
- Help support the school and its mission.
- Perform other duties as assigned by and in support of the Head of School.
