The Pre-K 3 program at Jacksonville Country Day School lays the foundation for academic success and character development.
Nestled in the leading private elementary school in Jacksonville, FL, the Pre-K 3 program is designed to meet the needs of individual students within an engaging and nurturing environment.
Emphasis is placed on educating the whole child through a developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory approach to preschool. Pre-K 3 students learn in the classroom and outdoors through guided lessons and play designed to promote exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
In addition to the foundational curriculum of language arts, math, and science, Pre-K 3 students take art, global studies, library, music, PE, Spanish, and technology classes on a weekly basis.
Jacksonville Country Day School’s preschool teachers are highly qualified and implement research-based best teaching practices. Each class is limited to 16 students and there is a teacher-student ratio of 1:8. Jacksonville Country Day's preschool fosters family involvement and parent participation is encouraged throughout the year.
The Pre-K 3 program runs five days a week — with several options for length of day, including pick up at 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:05 p.m., and later through our optional Extended Care and Enrichment programs.
Pre-K 3 students are required to be 3 years old before September 1 of their entry year and must have mastered independent bathroom skills prior to entry in August.
